A PR applicant (ITA in March, AOR in May, biometric letter received) kept getting 'invalid information' when registering for IRCC's application status tracker. What members found:
- Wait for the UCI to be updated. The tracker only works after your UCI (Unique Client Identifier) is active in the system — typically it appears with the biometric letter, and even then registration can take a couple more days after the UCI is issued. If your AOR is recent, the account simply may not be linkable yet.
- Match your details exactly — the fields are case-sensitive. Enter your name and other details exactly as they were provided in the application to IRCC, including capitalization. A mismatch between the tracker form and the application data produces the same 'invalid information' error.
- Workaround: use another application's number. One member solved it by registering with the application number of a different IRCC application they had (a work permit or other non-Express-Entry file). The tracker account later updated itself to show the Express Entry application. Useful if you have any prior Canadian application on file.
- Some accounts just lag. Another member with an April AOR still couldn't register — sometimes the only fix is waiting for IRCC's systems to sync.
If none of this works after a few weeks, a webform to IRCC is the standard escalation path.
