If you've received an ITA under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) but notice the job title on your CEC/Express Entry application doesn't match what was listed on an earlier study permit extension or PGWP application, group members suggested a straightforward way to sort it out rather than declining the ITA outright.
What group members advised:- Identify what your actual work documents say. Your official reference/experience letter is the source of truth for your job title, not whatever was entered on earlier immigration forms.
- If the title in your work documents matches what's on your current Express Entry profile, proceed with the application and include a brief explanation for why an earlier form (study permit extension or PGWP) listed a different, incorrect title.
- Group members noted it's unusual for study permits or PGWP applications to require a NOC code at all — if you're referring to your NOC code for foreign work experience specifically, clarify that distinction, since it's a different data point than a job title typo on an unrelated form.
Generally, a documented explanation for a titling inconsistency on a past, unrelated form is far less risky than declining an ITA and losing your place in the pool.
