Step-by-Step

Some PR applications have been rejected because their Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report was never shared with IRCC. How to avoid this depends on which organization did your assessment:

  1. If you used WES (World Education Services): when completing your WES application, you must explicitly add IRCC as a recipient for the report to be sent directly. This is not automatic — double check this step was done, or contact WES to confirm the report was sent to IRCC.

  2. If you used IQAS (International Qualifications Assessment Service): IQAS automatically shares the report with IRCC, so no separate recipient step is required. One applicant confirmed their IQAS report was received without issue and their PR was subsequently approved.

  3. Either way, submit copies of your degree certificates alongside the ECA report in your application as a backup, rather than relying solely on the assessment organization's transmission.
