If you previously worked in a country that isn't your home country (for example, Saudi Arabia) and left for good years ago, it can be unclear whether you still need to track down a PCC from there for your PR application, especially since getting a new one after leaving is often difficult.
Key points from the group:- If you no longer hold residence status in that country, you may not need a PCC from it at all. Per IRCC guidance, once you've left a country for good with no ongoing residence status, you can explain this directly in your Letter of Explanation (LOE) instead of hunting down a new certificate.
- If you do have and want to use an old PCC, it doesn't carry a standard 6-month expiry like some other documents. As long as it was issued after you last left that country, it remains valid for your PR application no matter how much time has passed since.
This means you generally don't need to worry about re-obtaining a PCC from a country you've permanently left, whether because it's no longer required or because your existing certificate is still valid.
