If you're outside India (e.g. in the US) and applying for PR after ITA, but your and your spouse's Indian PCC is taking longer than expected:
- You cannot submit your application confirmation as a substitute for the actual PCC. It doesn't fulfill the same requirement.
- Instead, submit your PCC request file/reference number in your PR application. IRCC can take this as evidence you've already applied and will typically allow additional time for the actual certificate to follow.
- Check whether you've gone through the correct jurisdiction. For Indians applying from abroad, PCC requests typically go through the nearest Consulate General of India (or an equivalent authorized process), and using the wrong jurisdiction can slow things down further.
The practical fix: don't wait to submit your PR application until the PCC physically arrives — submit with your PCC file number noted, and follow up on the certificate separately.
