Applicants with a lower CRS score sometimes weigh a direct BC PNP route against staying in the Express Entry pool.
What group members advised:- The biggest practical difference is processing time. Non-EE PNP routes can involve a paper-based PR application, which tends to move slower than an Express Entry ITA-driven process — though some non-EE PNP applicants can still complete parts of it online.
- Employer headquarters location doesn't necessarily block a BC PNP nomination. One member confirmed that even if your employer's HQ is in a different province (e.g. Ontario) while you work in BC, the employer can still nominate you for BC PNP — this differs from PNP rules elsewhere that require the employer's registered office to be in-province.
Takeaway: a BC PNP-without-EE route can work even with an out-of-province HQ employer, but expect a potentially slower, more paper-heavy process compared to an EE-linked PNP nomination.
