Documents Needed

  • OINP nomination certificate / approval letter

Not mandatory in the e-APR but recommended; attach in the Client Information section.

  • Intent to live in Ontario

Members also flagged including this with an OINP-backed PR application.

Step-by-Step

An applicant with an OINP nomination (600 CRS points already applied) asked whether the nomination certificate must be uploaded with the Express Entry PR application.

  1. Where it goes. If you're still assembling the application, attach the nomination certificate in the Client Information section of the e-APR.

  1. It's recommended, not mandatory. The nomination itself is already linked electronically (that's where the 600 points come from), so members advised that the letter is not a required upload. If you've already submitted without it, there is no need to panic.

  1. If you want to add it after submission, use a webform. The clean procedure described: raise an IRCC webform quoting your UCI and application number, attach the nomination document, and request that it be added to your file — the officer handling the webform will attach it. One applicant in the thread had already done exactly this and was told it would work.

  1. Check the companion documents. A member prompted the applicant to also confirm they'd uploaded their 'Intent to Live in Ontario' statement in the PR application — a companion document OINP nominees commonly include.

The takeaway: missing the nomination letter is a recoverable, low-stakes omission — the webform route patches it without disturbing the application.

Dos, Don'ts & Tips

  • Do: Attach the PNP nomination certificate in the Client Information section if you haven't submitted yet.
  • Tip: Already submitted without it? Raise a webform with your UCI and application number and attach the document — IRCC adds it to the file.
  • Do: For OINP nominees, include an 'Intent to Live in Ontario' statement with the PR application.
