Group members confirmed it is possible to change your college after your study permit is approved, but the rules depend on where you are when you make the change.
If you're still outside Canada:- Log in to your GC Key portal — there's an option there to submit a request to change your designated learning institution (DLI) on file.
- IRCC will process this before you travel, so your permit and port-of-entry documents reflect the new school.
If you've already landed in Canada:- Once your study permit has been issued and you've entered the country, you generally cannot change institutions the same way — the permit is tied to the DLI you arrived under.
On switching to a September intake:- It's possible in principle, but members warned it comes at a cost (application/transfer fees) and is much easier with a well-connected agent; without one, chances of a smooth switch are described as bleak. Treat this as anecdotal — confirm current transfer policies with your institution and IRCC directly.
