Filed without upfront medicals - does the panel clinic send results to IRCC, and is a webform needed?

Documents Needed

  • e-Medical Information Sheet

Given by the panel clinic; contains your UMI/IME numbers - attach this if you raise a webform

Step-by-Step

An applicant who filed a study permit without upfront medicals asked whether the panel physician forwards results and whether a webform is needed.

  1. The panel clinic sends your results to IRCC directly. You don't have to do anything - your passport number is embedded in the medical results, which links them to your application.

  2. A webform is optional, not required. If you want to nudge the linkage, raise one webform and attach the e-Medical Information Sheet the clinic gives you (the sheet with your UMI/IME numbers). No need to attach the vaccination worksheet.

  3. If you skip the webform entirely, you're still fine - the passport-number linkage does the job; applicants submit UMI/IME numbers only to facilitate matching.

  4. One member's blunt take: reflexive webforms 'serve no purpose but to increase workload' - use at most one.

Dos, Don'ts & Tips

  • Don't: Don't raise multiple webforms just to report a completed medical - the clinic transmits results directly.
  • Tip: Keep the e-Medical Information Sheet; the UMI/IME numbers on it are what link your results to your file.
