A pharmacist who received an Ontario (OINP) expression of interest found that their ECA-issuing body (PEBC) only authorizes release to IRCC, not to provinces directly. Advice from the group:
- Contact OINP directly to clarify what they specifically need — provincial requirements around ECA authorization can differ from IRCC's, so it's worth confirming directly with the province rather than guessing.
- If your ECA was done through WES, you can typically add OINP as an additional recipient on your WES account, which is a more straightforward fix if applicable to your assessing body.
The key issue is that not all ECA-issuing bodies release reports the same way — check whether yours supports adding a provincial recipient, and reach out to the province if it doesn't.
